Hello,
Basically, I have started to use TightVNC to connect to my WHS system over my gigabit network, and it has incredibly poor performance. It takes quite a few seconds to register a click of the mouse and even longer to minimise a window. I run Vista x64 and WHS x32.

Any thoughts are much appreciated. I also use TightVNC to communicate to a Dedi box full of game servers in London somewhere and that runs perfectly fast.

There is a bandwidth allocator with tightVNC that says how much it can use...check that out?

also check traffic over your network whilst attempting connection...'gigabit network' is something often bantered around on cheap routers these days but often it does not live up to whats written.

ewwwww WHS thats an oxymoron if ever i heard one! :)

I like WHS. Does exactly what I need. I can access files from anywhere, I use it as a print server, storage etc. Im happy with it :).

And yes, it is a gigabit network, I get roughly 61Mb/s copying files (sustained). Both on Intel PRO/1000 cards through a rackmount 16-port Netgear switch (The router is seperate and only used as a gateway/hardware firewall). So that bit is fine.

I can only see Connection Profile and it has low/medium/high bandwidth. Doesnt matter what I set it to. Still takes ages.
