Thought Id post this for a bit of fun and for C+C. Been playing about with using PS to mimic the effect you can get with tilt-shift lenses. Can't help think it gives a rather surreal Hornby-Railways effect to things.......

Apparently, theres a whole group devoted to this kinda stuff. Some great examples to be found, along with tutorials, at:

Comments welcome, and looking forward to seeing some other efforts.

Lovin' the boats and the hillside.....

As requested, the original from my first post for comparison below. Not the best scaling job as I/m not by my usual PC!

Sorry for being dumb but I can't seem to recreate the effect. I've tried to follow the CS2 guide but get lost!!

Help!

I also had a few issues; not sure if you're making the same mistake I was. I kept getting the middle blured and the top and bottom nice and sharp. There's a setting on the gradient mask you need to change, which isn'tstated in the tutorial I followed (here) . Once you've selected the "reflected gradient" (looks like a cylinder) you need to make sure the "Reverse" tick box is ticked before you create the gradient mask. Not sure if this helps, or is blindingly obvious to everyone else, but it had me beat for ages!! (PS CS2 is not yet my strong point!!)
