Tim Cook with estimated to be worth over $400m, if he gave half of this away to good causes, that would make him a legend, not this.

He has given away $100m in the past, so not too bad.

Still Bill Gates with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has donated US$28 billion so far.

Being an Apple user, I still don't understand the Apple culture and their fanboys.
 
so this is what makes a "legend" in this day and age :( the likes of Ranulph Fiennes and Robert Falcon Scott are legends not some tech nerd that gets ice over there heads good grief

Though, what is it with so many people wanting to be liked so badly? I'm speechless at times with all this crazy Internet celebrity wannabes.

Like why are people so desperate? Better yet, why is this trend running through CEO's lately. Everyone wants to be like the small unknown guy. Yeah right. Nobody is the same. Not everyone can be one of the boys. Or has some people forgotten they had grown up? Or forgot to grow up?

It's like watching some people evolve in life then some regress. All because for Internet popularity.

Yes he's a leg end in his own lifetime. Someone who has won a VC has earned the right to be called a legend but Tim Cook really! The thought processes going on in your mind makes my mind boggle. :rolleyes:

The idea of a business is to make money. A business isn't a person, it cannot be moral or immoral.

The Governments should patch the loopholes. Ireland for instance set the rates so low in order to get more businesses in. Well that succeeded but now they complain about tax avoidance. In that case, put the tax rate back up :confused:
 
I never understand people having a go at these things and calling them stupid and fads.

You do realise that this is raising the profile of ALS, a lot of people who haven't even heard of the disease are now having their eyes opened.

Is the ice bucket challenge stupid? YES, that's the point, it gets people talking about it and has succeeded. Does it matter if the ice bucket challenge is stupid as long as the profile of the charity is raised and money is raised?

When you can whine about people doing good for charity you really must be a miserable sod.

EDIT: I don't really agree with the legend comment considering the number of people who have done this.
