very dumb question!

If there was too much tim on the bottom of the heatsink would the heatsink ifself still get hot or whould the cpu just be insulated, its just i looked at both the freezer 7 and intel heatsink and there was a little tim on the intel one and what seemed to be quite a lot on the freezer?

Im only asking because imy temps seem to be quite high, 47 idle and 53 on full load. and the i have touched the heatsink and its very warm! and its only at stock at the moment.

Having too much TIM will mean your CPU will get hotter than it would have done otherwise, your HS temp will stay much the same.

Jokester

Yeah they are a bit over the top with the pre applied MX1 stuff although my Freezer 64 pro gave decent temps using it.

well that made about no difference whatsoever!!! Grr i think the sensors maybe slightly off as i know they can be on these boards.

Looks like im going to have to "borrow" the laser temperature probe from work tomorrow! Then i will know for sure.
