Not sure if this is the right place but some information for you guys.

Some time ago I bought and used some Coolaboratory Liquid Ultra TIM, I was later warned although very effective it is very difficult to remove.

Now the time has come to remove my cooler and the effects are seen here.

Pretty much nothing on the CPU (Phew!) It also wasn't stuck.

But...

The stuff on the cooler is like solder! Luckily the cooler is broken so will be disposed of anyway.

So if you want extreme TIM then OK but be careful in the future. I think I'm lucky it didn't leave anything nasty on the CPU. I won't be using this again.
Andi.

glad it didn't ruin your cpu but the knackered cooler instead.

does look rather nasty and even if you managed to get it off the copper may get scratched\damaged in the process

It can be removed using an isopropyl alcohol jet wash. I sold a 4770k a while back that had been pasted with liquid ultra. The guy who bought it got it cleaned this way. Definitely great paste but not easy fir the average user to clean off.

I'm wondering if I should be worried that it didn't stick to the CPU?

60 minutes and I should get my Antec replacement cooler.
Andi.

what tim was isit ? i know ic diamond scratches everything so all the writing on 4790k disappeared now with s36 im using grizzly kryonout good temps as it was delided.

edit : yes for removal just go in pharmacy and ask alcohol wipes

As in the op ;-)

Doesn't need to come off the cooler as that is being binned.
