Okay lots of men on here so this must be a good place to ask, where the heck do you all buy your timber from? I've only got a Fiesta so can get about 1.8m in length but that's only in small pieces as thats from boot to dash. This limits me a lot in what I can carry but I still can't find anywhere decent to buy wood from.

We have a small DIY shop but the parking is horrific and they've tried to give me a few dodgy bits a couple of times. So is there a decent timber merchant online where I can get timber delivered (doesn't even need to be cut to size) at a reasonable cost? Or what should I be looking for localy as I'm seriously struggling :(

Look for a local sawmill and go speak to them direct. That's where I got the wood for my shed, a local sawmill.

Seems my local is just under 15 miles away, which is a long way to travel with a car full of timber. Plus I'm only looking at little projects so not sure it'd be worth their time :/

Found out there is a Howarth Timber suppliers not to far and they offer delivery. They look like a decent sized company any experience?

Be careful when getting it delivered. You will end up with all the bowed and twisted wood out the yard that gets left when people go in to pick it up.
Happens everytime round here. They even admit it when you go in to complain :D
I fear this, the local place tries it even though I'm there!
I go and pick it up then I'm not delivered a load of spaghetti.

Can I borrow you and your Hilux :p

If I were >21 I'd just go and hire a van.

Think I'll hold off until I get a bigger car
