Hey everyone, so today I've had the sudden urge to play Time Crisis games, did anyone else used to be addicted to these games? Remember the G Con guns?!

I was wondering, I only have a PS1, but if I buy a PS2 will the original Time Crisis game & G Con gun will they work on the PS2?

I was thinking of buying a PS2 with all the Time Crisis games for PS1/PS2, but will the PS1 games work on PS2 and what G Con gun do I buy (1 or 2?).

Also can anyone else remember any other games on the PS1 that uses the gun? All I can remember is Point Blank, Virtua Cop (for Ps2) and some zombie game.

I thought there was impending news of a new game. :|

I used spend hours playing Time Crisis.

Point Blank was also an awesome game!

I think you need a G Con gun 2 with LCD displays, the first version only works on CRT's.

I might be wrong though.

All the g-con guns work on the ps2 as well as all the original gun games for the ps1.

None of them work on lcd tvs from what I remember (the glass on the front of the tv is needed for the gun to work I think).

Classic games though! Found a service station in the Republic that still has a working Time Crisis 2 with 2 plays for a Euro! Couldn't get anyone to help so could only make it to the woods bit :(

No light gun peripherals apart from the Guncon 3 (Which I never had the chance to try out) work with LCD/Plasma TV's which is why you see these sorts of games being relegated to the Wiimote and PS Move controllers.

And as already mentioned, pretty much all PS1 games and devices will work on a PS2 since it is backwards compatible.

Only light gun games I remmeber for the PS1 are Time Crisis, a console exclusive one called Time Crisis: Project Titan, and Point Blank.

For PS2 there are plenty;

Time Crisis 2, 3
Crisis Zone - (Pretty much Time Crisis with a machine gun)
Vampire Night
Ninja Assault
Virtua Cop: Elite Edition (Includes 1 & 2)

I remember playing TC1 so much I knew where the men were going to come from...

I had that scorpion gun or whatever it was tho, the one that had the moving chamber on it whenever you fired!

Great to know! I've got a spare 32" CRT TV so I'll hook it up to that. At least the G Con gun for PS1 will work on PS2 and with their games.

I've managed to buy Time Crisis, Time Crisis: Project Titan & 2 G Con Namco guns for £14 total which is a good deal I think, cannot wait to play with some mates, old school fun!

Ah forgot about those games.

I'll try and buy Time Crisis 2 and 3 for the PS2 if I can. Never played the others apart from Virtua Cop.

Better still was the 'real' arcade gun.

Not actualy the real doosh from the machine, but a replica with g-con buttons, sliding bolt and foot pedal.

When i whip out game, thats the weapon of choice.

Briliant conversion, amazing game, a new breath of life to the genre at the time... with the foot pedal/reload/action and all that.

I miss lightgun games, the only thing we have that's accessible is the Wii, and lightgun games on that aren't great really. House of the dead isn't bad but that's it.

The new games are still fun and pretty good, it's just the half-assed forced control systems with the current consoles that is letting them down.

This was certainly interesting to use...
