Time for a change

Evening folks.

So I'm about to get rid of my 53 plate 1.2 Corsa for something with some..whats it called..remind me...oh thats right POWER!

Nothing stupid but I'm looking to spend between 5 and 6k plus my corsa which am guessing won't be worth more than 1k. Would a Golf TDI be a little out of reach. I test drove a 1.8 Astra and found it to be very enjoyable although not as much power difference I would have expected.

Thoughts?

You seriously need to test drive some more cars, a 1.8 Astra is about as enjoyable as shopping for handbags.

Try a Focus or something.

should easily be able to pick up a decent mk5 golf gt tdi for around 5-6k.
avoid the 1.9 tdi as its not gonna be that much faster then the corsa

The 130bhp 1.9TDI will be a whole lot faster than a Corsa... it'll certainly feel faster with being a diesel also

Err since when was the 130bhp 1.9TDI in the Mk5?

If the great one is right then have a look at a Seat Leon/Ibiza with the 130bhp engine.

in the mk5 the 1.9 is only available in 105 bhp form. these can map up to 130 but its easier to get the 2.0 as its 140 to start with and they tend to be better speced but make sure insurance is not an issue as when i was looking for mines to get insured on the 2.0 tdi it was £800 more then the 1.9

Diesel or Petrol isn't really a problem. And My dad has a Mk5 2.0TDI and it is a LOT faster than the Corsa
