Hi,

I currently have a A64 3700+ and i'm thinking it maybe upgrade time :)

I'm stuck between getting a Q6600 or a E8400. (or anything else I should be looking at in that price range?)

I play games mostly, very little else.

Now, here's the thing. I have no intention whatsoever in overclocking any CPU I buy :o

I know that may shock a few of you guys but please keep it in mind :D

So what do you recommend?

Thanks for your time.

for gaming i'd stick with duel core as no games use quad & u'd have 2 cores constantly idleing. but others may disagree with me

I understand that but like the first guy said, I don't upgrade very often!

I was reading a review of a game that said a dual core CPU was minimum spec! (think it was assasins creed?) which kinda made me think "omg how old is my rig!"

now I don't wanna buy a dual core then find out in 12 months time that 4 cores is minimum spec :D

How likely is that to happen?
