Hey currently using a dell XPS L702 had for about 4 years now so done it's time well aha

The specs of this one are 16gb ram/ GeForce GT 555M/i7-2670QM 2.20ghz

I'm thinking of upgrading to a dell inspection 15 7000. For £1000
  • Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ processor
  • RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 1 TB HDD & 128 GB SSD
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
But have seen a
MSI Apache Pro GE62VR 15.6" Gaming Laptop for £1300
  • Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ processor
  • RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 1 TB HDD & 128 GB SSD
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
My question is the extra £300 worth it for the gtx 1060? I've heard it's good from reviews and want to be sure since laptop gpus ain't upgradeable :(

yes and no, the 1060 is much better assuming its the 6gb version and the rest is much better than you old laptop, even the one with the 1050ti is better, but whether its £300 extra worth would be down to how they perform in whatever games/applications you are using.

a 2gb 1050ti desktop is like £140 onward and the cheapest 6gb non reference 1060 is £240 or an idea where they price point at, but that extra 300 quid wont be just for the graphics card, it be everything else that model has to offer.

thanks for the help guys considering going with the gtx 1060 even tho it is the 3gb version I think it'll work for my games.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £2,461.00
(includes shipping: £11.10)

6GB version or cheaper Ti

also used Acer laptops- black editions which i thought were pretty sweet

im pretty sure MSI have active reps for their Laptop UK department still on here? not sure with Gigabyte and dont think Acer will be here

just saw the prices or Aorus and ROG...insane for a gtx 1060!

@Atom80 is the resident Aorus/Gigabyte rep on here, I personally have an Aorus X7 and it's fantastic, cannot recommend them enough if your budget can accommodate them.
