I've been putting this off for 6 months now but really need to get an upgrade, my current PC is close to 3 years old now .

I really don't know where to start and what is going to suit my needs. I will only be using it for; web browsing, Itunes, loading my vid's from my camera and encoding them to DVD and not a great deal else other than that. A quieter case would be good I bought a cheapy last time round.

All I will retain from my set up is my 22" tft. My budget is flexible £400ish obviously I won't need to top end piece of kit and can't decide if it will be easier this time to buy an assembled system or self build?

Any idea's please

I'm assuming here that you need an OS but if not you could either get 4gb Ram, a better graphics card or a larger hard drive with the money saved. :)

can save money if you can salvage a DVD drive from your current PC

went for the 2600 pro as i was thinking you will not be gaming, if you do then that card will be fine for some light gaming.

you will most likely have to overclock the CPU to get the best performance.

no OS as i assume you have one already

also no mouse and keyboard and speakers as i assume you are using the ones from your current pc or you have put money aside for those

The CPU will be fine, even at stock but if you want you can certainly overclock it very easily and it would almost be a shame not to since they take so well to it. The IP35 that jak731 suggests would be better for that task though. :)
