Having to scavange my gaming rig to fix my media machine  so thought this would be as good a time as any to upgrade. I'll be doing it in stages, and this is what I have so far:

Asus P5K-E WiFi Intel P35
Intel Core 2 Duo E2180
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency

I've got enough of everything else lying around to make a machine out of that, and as you can see I'm on a fairly tight budget. I was tempted by a couple of the 2x2Gb kits as the price seems very good, but can't really see any need for it yet - will probably still be on XP Pro. I will be looking to clock the 2180 to >3.0Ghz (hopefully into the 3.6 range) so could someone suggest a couple of coolers that will fit this mobo?

Any other thoughts?

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775) for a low budget. its still quite a good cooler

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/LGA775) with a sutible 120mm fan for a high budget. this is capable of keeping a quad cool when overclocked

Tuniq 120 for almost thermalright performance at ~£20 cheaper ( once fan's added).
If your on a really tight budget, switch to a slightly cheaper mobo, it will do as much at a lower price, just buy a wireless card to go with it.....simple and cheaper.

I don't want to drop down a level in the mobo as the Asus has 8 phase power which I want (don't care about the wifi as I'll use the gigabit lan)

Ram wise, I've noticed that the OCZ is the same price as the Geil on TWO - anyone know which of the 2 is the best?

Cooler wise I am prepared to spend to get good performance - was thinking either of the Scythes or maybe the Noctura - just want to know what people are using and what fits that mobo? Been looking at:

Thermalright IFX-14 CPU Cooler
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B CPU Cooler
Scythe Infinity
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
Noctua NH-U12F CPU Cooler
Titan Amanda TTC-NP04TZ TEC CPU Cooler
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler

Anyone care to rate the above (and/or comment on compatibility with the Asus?) - I know the Amanda is a controversial choice - but hey - if you've read my sig you'll understand I have trouble letting go ;) )

Any of the coolers should fit although I'm led to believe that the Scythe Ninja is one of the more difficult ones to attach of the list. I'd go with the Tuniq of the options but no real reasoning behind picking it over the others, I just know that it works and works well.
