OK, I'm currently running a swiftech storm G4, had it for a while now with no issues.

I was just wondering how it compared to newer CPU blocks and whether or not it is worth the £40 or whatever it would be to get a more modern model.

It's hard enough to find reviews for the storm, let alone reviews that compare it to current products.

Has anyone had a storm and upgraded? What was the performance increase like and was it worth it?

PS - I'm aware that the storm uses jet impingement and as such has quite high flow resistance. Would I see any improvement from a new block simply by getting a low resistance one? Loop consists of 7/16" tubing, a triple rad, storm g4, XSPC gtx280 block and an 18w laing DDC with a decent top.

If you want to go to an i7 you really need to upgrade.

If your not upgrading and you dont have problems and Storm is still a good block :)

Don't usually say it but 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'? If you are having no problems with your current block then is there any point in upgrading? what do you want to achieve? lower temps?

I don't really want to change, I'm fine with it as it is. I was just curious as to whether waterblocks have changed much in the last few years really, as stated its hard to find comparative reviews
