Time for a rebuild can anyone help

Ive currently got a

Asrock4 coredual-VSTA motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E4400
ATI Radeon HD3850
2gb DDR2 memory

I know this is ancient now but im looking to do a rebuild but funds are limited

It will mainly be used for surfing but i also play FM2010 a lot and also play Left For Dead 2 and The Half Life series of games.

I dont need a monitor because i have a ASUS 22inch HD monitor and also have keyboard etc.

I have a 600w watt modular power supply but its not a known make which worries me a bit so would probably need a new PSU.

Any help would be much appreicated.

I currently have a Thermaltake Soprano Case but i have been looking at the Xigmatek Utgard Midi Tower Case to replace it

The PSU is a make called Trendsonic and the E4400 is running at stock speed at the moment because everytime ive tried to overclock i havent got very far before it wont boot

get a 4GB memory kit(either a new kit, or addition 2gb) and a ATI 5770

Doesnt the motherboard cause a big bottleneck with the ATI 5770 tho?

£500 is my ideal but maybe £550 is possible because if i end up rebuilding my system i will sell this one

They both look like really good builds and give me something to think about.
Would it be possible to buy a Tri Core CPU tho and try and unlock the extra core(I dont know what the sucess rate of doing this is tho)
And if it wont unlock it would i lose much performance when im playing Half Life 2 Ep2 or Left for Dead 2?
