It really is time to upgrade but I am well out of the loop with PC building, so looking for some advice..

Current antiquated rig -

Phenom x6 1090t
8gb corsair DDR3 1600
Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H AM3 (Micro ATX)
100GB Corsair SSD and a couple of mechanical HDD's for storage
GTX650 (I don't do gaming)
BE Quiet 550w PSU
Zalman case
Freeview HD Dual Tuner (using a low profile TBS 6820 PCI-E card) which will be going in the new rig.

Only used as a HVR, TV, media centre, VirtualDJ 8, web browsing, a bit of video production (Adobe AE, PP) and a fair bit of video encoding (both HD & SD)

Only real requirements are a PCI-E x1 slot (for the HD TV Tuner card) no need for high end graphics, (onboard DX11 should be sufficient)
onboard sound is sufficient for my needs.
Windows 7 will be used.
8GB ram will be enough, I barely go over 6GB even in AE.
Could probably do with a bigger case as the zalman is tight even with a micro-atx board so might as well get one.
I wont be overclocking, so aftermarket cooler will not be required.

So, for about £600 any suggestions of the best bang per buck?

CPU, MB, RAM, PSU, CASE

I will add some extra HDD's myself and any other peripherals (new mouse, keyboard etc) and they are not in the £600 budget.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

Cheers pal :)
That i5 bundle looks great value, but seriously interested in the i7 set-up.
Think I may go that route, might as well bang 16GB in as it's cheaper now than when I last bought ram.
Saw a nice evolution full tower case on the site for £75 and will go with a bequiet PSU for about £75, (550w modular) had one in this rig for years and it's been on 24/7 since 2013 and still going strong :)

Now just need to save a few quid and will grab it in a couple of weeks :)

Video editing / encoding will always benefit from more cores / threads. So an i7 would be the better option if your budget can stretch to it. RAM prices are in a good place right now, I'd get 16GB so you have some wiggle room for the future.

Full tower case is likely to be overkill since you don't seem to need to house a lot of mechanical and/or optical drives. A midi tower would likely be a better bet. Have a look at the Fractal Design Define R5, it has a lot of room inside and is very quiet.

You can probably get a power supply with better efficiency ratings for the same price, so unless you are very keen on be quiet then you could explore that

I recommend getting at least a 240gb ssd if you plan to use this for a considerable amount of time.

the price for the 6700 isn't very good at all! probably due to the pound taking a little dip after brexit news
