I just realised it's been 2 years since my last upgrade/build and I'm looking to run Battlefield 4 at as high a specs as possible when it comes out.

My current system is:

Processor: Intel I7 960 Overclocked @4ghz.
Mainboard: Gigabyte GAX58USB3 http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3571#ov
GFX Card: Zotec 560ti http://www.zotacusa.com/geforce-gtx-560-ti-zt-50301-10m.html
GPU: OCZ ZS Series 650W

I'm probably going to spend £300 on it.

My first question is: Will I need a bit more juice going into the system? Maybe an 750 or 850w GPU?

The second is how is this best spent assuming (hoping) the 650w GPU will be enough, should I just spend the £300 on the juiciest graphics card I can get or should I look to get another 6gb or so of RAM and spend the rest on an upgraded GFX card?

Any help much appreciated.

On that kind of budget, I would recommend:

YOUR BASKET
1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) **Voltage Unlocked** £185.99
1 x Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (SH103S3/120G) £85.99
Total : £283.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

and keep the rest. If you could upgrade the CPU & Mobo, you'll need to spend more, but the above should do just fine.

or maybe:

YOUR BASKET
1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) **Voltage Unlocked** £185.99
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £143.99
Total : £340.78 (includes shipping : £9.00).

Sorry I should add, I've already got a corsair gt ssd which I have my os and whatever games I am playing installed on.

If I'm not mistaken, the RAM you have is running triple channel and it would be pointless to get anymore as you couldn't transfer it to a new build.

Your PSU is fine, GPU could be something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gainward GeForce GTX 770 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £299.99
1 x Asus HD 7970 Matrix Platinum 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £269.99
1 x MSI HD 7970 Twin FrozR OC BE 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE GAMES £259.99
1 x Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £233.99
1 x Asus HD 7950 DirectCU II TOP V2 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £209.99
1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) **Voltage Unlocked** £185.99
Total : £1,480.45 (includes shipping : £17.10).

My suggestion would be to overclock that CPU more if you can and get one of the above.

If I went for the gtx 770 and a better fan for the CPU+ oc it further, how much of a performance boost will I see? It currently runs bf3 on ultra settings, full aa at 1920x1080 at around 30-35fps.

Edit- when **** gets serious it drops below 30fps which is obviously not ideal.
