Now, time for an upgrade. What should be upgraded? All suggestions welcome, many thanks!

Gonna be honest your specs look good. Are your rig struggling with anything in particular? What do you use your PC for?

What monitor do you have?

An SSD would be a great addition.

Forgot to mention, I do have a 40GB SSD and that was bloody expensive when I bought it! I used to be a hardcore gamer, but with work and life in general I've had to stop and cut down. I will be wanting to play GTA5 when it's out though!

I have a 22 inch Samsung p2270.

Infact, I sold my SSD. I didn't have any use for it (or see the point) so I eBay'd it. Now I regret it, haha.

So you guys think just a GPU upgrade? I reckon my PSU is on it's way out, I get a squealing on startups (until it's warm) maybe its one of the fans but can't pin point the noise. My bet is the PSU though. PSU, GPU and an SSD sounds good. How long can I expect to be on top of the game with my i7 then?

overclock it, and it will be for a very long time.

£700 for gpu and ssd

gpu comes with 6 games, thats 12 to sell or 6 to play and 6 to sell to make some money back

as a £700 budget i think dual 7950s are a good buy :) defiantly future proof.

could go for single 7970 / 680.

Two 7950's on a 22" monitor? I dunno man :)

Reckon 1 card + PSU + SSD is the way to go unless a near future monitor upgrade is on the cards.
You'll get £70-100 for the 5870 if you can find a buyer. Took me 3 weeks to shift mine at £70 lol...

Reckon just gonna get a new graphics card and probably an SSD. Run OS off the SSD, and probably also grab a new PSU.. as I reckon this is on it's way out.

What graphics card we recommending then? The 797? Always been an ATI fan so yeah!

Cheers guys, been a great help. I could probably upgrade my monitor but I don't think it'd be worth spending another £500 or so on a decently sized new screen when I don't play games that much.22" is huge!
