I mainly use the PC for gaming, nothing too intensive (only run it in Potato mode for TF2 mainly at the moment; yes I know, grow out of it, I'm 25 >.>). But want it to be future proof for the next sort of 2 years;

These guys are splitting hairs for games like TF2. You're looking at 80-200 FPS with an R9 280X regardless of the CPU. Check this out with an FX 6300 (£80)

If you're just a casual gamer don't bother overspending on a £175 CPU when an £80 will be fine. My 2p.
