Okay I have a fairly good system that is handling current games no problem, mostly playing Battlefield BC2 and WoW at the mo, with a little Crysis 2 thrown in. Down the line I plan on playing a lot of BF3 and Rage.
I have a tidy bonus due to me at work and was thinking about replacing various parts on my PC. Not sure if I want to upgrade now or wait until next year and go with the next gen Intel CPU's?
Current Spec;
Intel Q9650 @ 3Ghz
Asus P5E
4GB DDR2 @ 1066Mhz
EVGA 570GTX
OCZ Vertex 60GB
Corsair 750W PSU
Creative X-Fi
Replacement Parts;
Intel I7 2600K with a Akasa Venom cooler
Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB @ 1600MHz
Asus P8P67 Pro
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB
Asus Xonar D2X
Think with these spec's the system should last me another couple of years, and also allow me to run SLI down the line. Although probably just replace the 570 with a 600 series when the are released.
But then the next gen Intel CPU's sound like they could be a fair bit faster than the current I7's and as I've said my current rig isn't showing sign's of being slow in the current games.
Thanks, AStaley.
