Time for an upgrade?

Well summer has come around again, with some free time on my hands i'm now re-evaluating how my computer is performing.

I've been running a Q6600 2.4ghz quad core processor for some time now, but recently I feel like it's been starting to show its age. The Asus P5K motherboard only supports DDR2 RAM, and only up to 8GB - another limit i'm not comfortable with.

Would it be worth investing in an upgrade, or should I stick it out a while longer? Is DDR3 RAM noticably better? Would a <£200 processor be a significant or worthwhile investment? If it would, what would you recommend?

Thanks :)

will be a nice boost, DDR2 is ok but if you can afford to upgrade you may as well move to new tech. The ssd would be a nice addition too.
