Hey guys. Basically i build my pc like 5 years ago and now is starting to show much wear. I made some very basic errors last time while doing my build like picking a motherboard that only handles ddr2 :S so this time im looking to you guys to keep my on the streight and narrow.

Also to mention the reason that i want to do this is because im having major issues playing games that i currently should be able to handle with no problems and that my friends are playing with no issues on weaker machines. I booted everything back to scratch and made sure all drivers where up to date but no change. I can only think that maybe my hardware( motherboard specifically) is hampering my performance as my new card is above what is needed to run games at a smooth level. If maybe have an opinion on this please share :)

I recently upgraded my gfx card from a gtx 260 to a Asus GTX 560Ti so im happy their and my cpu is a 2.33 quad core which should be fine for gaming atm tho the prices of those i5's are really cheap but i can hold off from it just now.

Currently im looking for a new motherboard that takes DDR3 and can take my current cpu as well as the i5 for future upgrades,8gig ram and a new cpu fan as my current one has few pins that hold it in place broke.

Now my budget is only 200 but i believe thats all i need to get a substantial boost in performance. What i have choosen is purely based on price not performance so if i have made any big blunders please offer me an alternitive at the same or lower price point.

My current build

Op System - Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Motherboard - Asus P5Q-E
Ram - 4G DDR2
GFX - Asus GTX 560Ti
PSU - 750w
CPU - 2.33 Quad core

What i have selected as an upgrade

Motherboard - Asus P8P67 PRO - £140.06
Ram -Corsair 8GB 1600Mhz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance - £40.48
CPU fan - dont know what fan to get for £20

Please feel free to tear apart my buy list and make a better one as i dont want to muck this up. Thanks

ahh i see i thought my cpu was old didnt realise it was old enough to be left behind by current mobo lol That i5 deffo was on my radar for future purchase but i can move it to the fore front as i kinda wanna get all this over and done with before gw2.

Ignore the cost of the processor as i can handle the extra cost what would you change to that buy list if budget was still £200. £150 mobo - £50 RAM

Also to add. While £150 isnt a massive price point for that i5 wouldnt a Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz for like half the price be a better upgrade choice to what i have the now while not breaking the bank or should i just bite that bullet and get the i5 that is suggested.
