Time for an Upgrade

It's normally hardware out-pacing software, this is a new era!

Its Hardware out-pacing hardware sufficating software. :)

I would definitely consider it in the future.. I'm not actually home until May, so I have a few months to play with.

Would the 790 be better than two 780Ti in SLI? [/noob]

I can only assume the 790 will be (like the 7990) 2 x 780(ti) Chips on one PCB.

However, there is no release date.

I'd recommend buying a mediocre card card to keep you going & flog it once the 790 has been released. 770/280x should do it!

Sounds like that could be a plan, now all I need is to be home and to hide the bills from the missus...

Thanks for the help so far, no doubt I'll have more questions though I'm sure.

I think, unless the 790 arrives before June that this will be what I'm aiming for. Would it be worth going for the 780Ti Windforce or GHz editions?

Also, one of the games I'll mostly be playing is FSX, which is supposedly very processor intensive- I know I've asked this, but would FSX benefit from the Ivybridge-E even if most games wouldn't?
