Hi all,
Been looking at monitors recently to replace my LG 23" 1080p. Considering either a 27" 1440p (maybe BenQ XL2730Z) or LG 34" Ultrawide 1440p... still undecided!!... would like freesync.
My current setup is:
CPU: Intel i5 3750k
GPU: VTX3D AMD Radeon R9 290 X-Edition
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (rev 1.0)
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
PSU: Corsair CX750 Builder Series
1 x 120gb SSD + 2 x 2TB WD HD
Zalman Z11 Plus Case
To accommodate the new monitor i want to upgrade PC to make sure im getting at least 60fps on high / ultra graphics. I know this is subjective and some say the difference is negligible but i can tell the difference albeit sometimes small... i blame my OCD!!
So im struggling to decide on an upgrade path... sell everything and start again (not ideal)? add another r9 290 for crossfire (tho mobo has PCIE x16 and PCIE x4)? single gpu maybe r9 390 or Fury? r9 295x2? Will cpu bottleneck crossfire?
I know crossfire can be troublesome but i dont tend to buy the latest releases and normally wait for prices to drop so should be patched by the time i come to play them.
Would appreciate advice on which would be best, will be getting monitor this month and upgrading the rest after.
Cheers!
