I want to upgrade my 8800GT but with so many cards on the market its hard to make the right choice. My budget is under £200. Any idea which one to go for?
 
1680*1050 with 500W OCZ PSU. I did think about the 470, but a lot people have said they are quite noisy plus runs hot.

470's do run fairly hot by most accounts and quite noisey but a custom cooler or water cooling set up would take that possible annoyance away. I'm not saying defo get the 470 but do bear in mind they are at an excellent price atm.

When you consider such options, you always have to bare in mind the extra cost that comes with it. After market coolers are generally at least £20, water blocks at least £40.

This is what put me off the 470/480s. I had a 4870X2 for a while and my room would get ridiculously warm after only an hour or so of gaming. Ended up going for a 5870 as I wanted the same performance without the heat/noise. 100% happy with it in all the games I play and I love the low temps, plus my cpu temps have concurrently dropped due to the lower ambient temps.

Anyways at that res and with that PSU a 1GB 460 seems perfect and you've chosen a good time with the offers. Also if you're concerned about temps, noise, etc you shouldn't have any issues with the 460.
