Time for P30 Pro upgrade? Pixel 8 Pro?

My Huawei P30 Pro is now over 4 years old. Still working well on the whole, although the battery is starting to fade and now needs charging twice per day if receiving much use. When I've checked previously there hasn't been any obvious new phone available that shows a real upgrade to the P30 Pro without paying crazy money. However, my attention has now been drawn to the current deal of £699 for the Google Pixel 8 Pro. That's still more than I would prefer to pay, but if I'm going to splash out on a new phone then I want it to be a real upgrade over the P30 Pro. I certainly don't want to move to anything with inferior cameras.

Is there anything else out there now (or coming soon) that would be a better value upgrade for the Huawei P30 Pro/offers better bang for buck than £699 for the Google Pixel 8 Pro?

The Pixel 8 Pro isn't £699 it's £999. The regular 8 is £699. Unless you've got a super discount from somewhere. If you can get a pro for £699 then I'd definitely go for it.
