Hi, could you suggest a good upgrade, not been touched since 2015. I have a big tower unit so anything will fit in I guess.

Currently its

CPU AMD A8-6600k APU 3.90Ghz 4MB

MBoard F2A88XM-D3H

Video (think it on the board) AMD Radeon HD 8570D

Memory 15554MB (1866)

If this should all be good enough then a SSD might be first step to speed stuff up as running normal HDD at the moment.

Not looking to do anything too complicated, mainly cropping and joining some videos from drone footage and general computer stuff. The footage is h265 4k 60fps though so may need some solid stuff inside to keep up.

Thanks

Rich

budget, there isnt one really, hundreds not thousands. Happy to change the lot if it sets me up for a few years trouble free computing though.

If you watch 4k videos on a 1080p monitor it should automatically downsize.

Have you got all the latest drivers ?

Try Windows media player classic.

yes everything is up to date for drivers. I have 2 monitors, one on the HDMI one on the DVI. I wonder if its hard drive that's too slow to read or something like that.

Computer seems generally sluggish, have removed all unnecessary programs.

Try windows media player classic , I have had files that wont play on certain players but would on another.

Changing to an ssd and a fresh install of windows could breathe life into your old system and you could always put the ssd into a new build.

Could start a fresh

Update - I added a SSD and new GPU, and all up and running again with better results. Should be enough to get me through a year or so, then the SSD at least will still be useful for the next build.
Thanks for the suggestions and input
