Hey guys,

As most of you know, I've got an 04 WRX. I've done odds and sods to it, but basically it just has an exhaust, some gauges and some ICE. I don't know if it's the time of year, or if I'm just wanting more out of the scoob, which I'll only get by modding it further. Or by getting an STi, I don't know.

Either way, make me some suggestions as to what I could buy as an alternative, I'll be 20 next week, and have 3 years NCB behind me. Budget, 8-9k I'd say. Any sort of car will do, has to be fast, has to be reasonable looking, easy to modify, and decent fun.

To be honest, I think the Evo would be a little too much in regards to the servicing required etc. The older models definitely do require the 4500mile services along with the small petrol tank could make it tedious.

Got a 306 dturbo actually that me and my bro share, need to screw mod it :D

Although I like the idea of modding my current scoob and enjoying doing so, I fear for killing my gearbox! :(
Just ran a quote through confused for the STi, £50 a month more than what I'm paying now. I'll have to ring my insurer and see what they can do.

Mum has one, nice car, but big step down. I'm thinking similar/better performance. Have I messed myself up here for choice by getting a scooby so early on in life? :D

Tim, the only good thing about that video is the chatter. I've had that on my scooby before when I blanked off the dumpvalve too! But the exhaust is just boring, sorry :p
 
Ok an STi is MUCH better than my WRX... lol. So seeing as theirs hardly any mechanical differences between a bugeye (02) and a blobeye (03) sti, just the looks, but a big price difference, which would you buy? Buying an 02 would leave more money for mods straight away, an 03 I'd possibly have to save a bit more money. Think it's time I advertised my car and returned it to standard! :eek:
 
UK300 is just a standard WRX with fancy styling basically. The STi has better brakes, stronger gearbox, stronger engine, LSDs and suspension are better and in some cases DCCD, better interior, better looks, more scope for modding etc etc. Make sense to have an STi as something to mod instead of the WRX.
