With all this talk about SSD in your PS4/X1... are those few seconds really worth spending almost if not more than the actual console itself? You would have to go out and buy a 500gb SSD to make it worth it.

I do like my SSD on my pc, it changed everything but not sure about spending all that on a console. The above video does make it very tempting.

The killzone loading times on the default drive is hilarious. I could drink a cup of coffee in that time.

I think when I get close to the 500gb on the default drive I'll get a 1tb or higher hybrid.

However, in that video he mentions hybrids are good if you play MP a lot and are loading the same maps etc, however... in 90% of situations, MP game rounds start when everyone is ready or after a set amount of time, so you would load into the game faster, just to then wait for the game to start/other players.

I think that when you're looking at perhaps a minimum of £250 for a 500GB SSD, it's madness to buy it to shave some time off the loading of a game. The benefits don't even come close to outweighing the costs IMO. I'd rather have 5+ games for that money.

[sarcasm]It's just something for those geeks with too much money because they live at home with mum to feel good about things.[/sarcasm]

Can't see the point in putting in a drive that costs the same as the system for a marginal increase in speed.

It makes sense to buy an SSD on PC but on consoles I really don't see the point in an extra 5 seconds.

I intend to get a SSD :), will not be until after Christmas though.

I might change my mind between then and now though.
