It's incredible how just changing the depth of field (tilt-shift) can make everything look like a toy. The time-lapse makes it even more so.

edit: I notice, though, the introduction of people really changes the feel. Human motion is so unique and so easy to recognise (even in time-lapse), it spoils the "toy" effect.
Amazing video. I as just thinking at about 4mins in that it could really do with a stadium shot, and the baseball came up soon after, though I think a time-lapsed team game would have been better - football, or american football, for example. Still, watched it twice and I think I'll watch it once more before forwarding the link to my mates.
A neat trick using either a very short depth of field and focal length in the middle of shot or artificially blurring the near and far items, I suspect the latter.
We were all doing it to make our cars look like toys a while back.
