Just to add another one...

About TimeScapes

TimeScapes is the work of Cinematographer Tom Lowe, and Composer Nigel John Stanford.

I purchased the 2560 x 1440p version of it and it is stunning :). Best content purchase I have made in a long time. Thinking about buying the soundtrack too, it really is that good.

Also have a read of this :-

Good stuff...

So I've got a Canon 20D and a MacBook here. Is there any free software I can use to drive the camera to take one a series of photos over several hours? Then what software, also free, can I use to turn a couple thousand shots into a video?

I know you can get software to control the shutter and even buy like a small device to do it too that connects to the camera or even a simple timer shutter release device.

I have not got round to making a time lapse video yet, but others on here have and maybe able to point you in the right direction.

Canon's own software that comes with the camera will do it.
You would then have to use any editing package to turn them into a video.

That's a really good point the software that comes with the cameras does the time lapse too, thanks for reminding me of that feature I rememebr one of the reasons I purchased the 300D a long time ago was this feature. :D I may end up keeping the 300D now as a time lapse camera only and look into getting the 5DMk2 or 7D when the new firmware comes out for it that fixes the audio problems and adds new features.
