Time Machine Backup Query

Just a few quick questions.

Can I use my iMac's backup and use on my MacBook Pro rather than having to back up both systems regularly.

Also what are the breif steps of using the actual backup?

Don't think this is possible, as it goes by system UID or something.

If you have a wireless hard drive set up then TM backups can be fully autonomous though

Unfortunatly not, Just an External USB hard drive capable of USB 3.0
Not biggy aslong as my main machine is regularly backed up and to be honest its not that much of an effort to stick it in the MacBook Pro.
Was just curious.
