Yo guys

I'm really tempted by the 60 gig Ipod video, but with a new one rumoured to be round the corner I don't know whether to wait or not...what would you guys do?

There is no set date (the rumor said 1st of April, but it has come and gone). Kinda depends how long you can hold back. The only other date I found said "4th quarter".

If it is like people are expecting - full screen and touch screen - it will cost mega $$$. If you want the same features, but with smaller screen, buy now. Tbh, i prefer the current design to the touch screens.

I went to New York last week and was hoping the touchscreen iPod would be out but it wasn't, so I got a 60Gb video iPod instead and I'm very impressed. It was always going to be an iPod for music and then video and the screen is bigger than I thought it was! A few things to consider:

1) The touchscreen iPod will probaly cost a lot. If you have bought videos on iTunes now they will be scaled to the screen (or not). Also they screen might scratch easily or it might not. It will also cost a lot. If you want an iPod for video and then music wait for the touchscreen iPod

2) Get the current iPod if you want music and then video.

I wonder if the touchscreen iPod would really cost more. If they do, then I doubt that I won't release a non touchscreen version. The price of flagship iPods have really raised, and I don't see Apple hike use this as an excuse to hike the price. Just speculating like everyone else ;)

O_o

The ipods are the cheapest they have ever been. I remember the MAIN reason i bought an ipod the first time round was because the 4th gen one was really cheap, when it was £219, and all other good competitors costed £250+ for 20gb.

And now 30gb + video for the same £219?

Its hardly a price hike, nowadays it might be slightly more than competitors, but it has its advantages.

Ah, how much of a difference missing out a word can make. I better make sure I don't make the same error in my dissertation ;)

I meant to say "have not". My mistake :)

I always maintained the Apple products are priced competitively.

lol sorry...

im a bit of an ipod fanboy, they've never done me wrong :p

I like iPods because they goddam work, which is more than can be said for my Karma which died after 5 months, and the hell I had supporting people who were using other players, with their abortions of UIs and software.

Rumours are that they intended to launch the full touchscren ipod video 1st april, but it was a bit poo, so it was sent back to the scren manufacturers to make it better.

Looking like a christmas release now.
