time to change..which case do i go for

Hi all,
at the moment ive got the antec 900, im planning on buying new case and go smaller as i will remove all my hdd's and leave just boot drive and 1 spare drive inside, all the other drives will go into server.

I like the fractal design R2 and also like the Lian-li pc-A05.

this time round in buying a case im gonna be fussy!! The fractal has way to many hhd bays for my liking and the Lian-li has the 3.5" bay external and the psu sits under the hdd's
I dont plan on having that many hdd's inside and havent used 3.5" in years!!

is there any otehr cases that are smaller, clean lines like the R2 without 3.5" front bays, prefere black inside with no so many hdd's bays, one of the main factors im looking for is a case thats nice'n'quiet.

my other idea/option is go for a HTPC case like the Antec max or the Silverstone LC16m.

Well i can speak on the A05 as i currently have one and love it, in regards to the 3.5" external, i dont use mine but the case still keeps a pretty nice clean face with the alu blanking plate in so i wouldnt let tht worry u and in the newer revisions the hard drive cage is removable creating better airflow, allways an option to have the harddrive placed in the floppy caddy if you wanted to go that route. As for the psu location, it makes a great inverted airflow and really gives the case a clean compartmented feel, i have a custom window so i appreaciate it more than someonoe without.

Id highly reccomend though if realy put off i dont think there are many that keep such a low profile.

Ill get some pics up of real world use if you like.
 
ive been thinking abit more on the A05 and the 3.5" and think i might get good quality card reader for it ( is there any alu ones out there to fit in style with case?)

also saw some pics of the revision on hdd cage and saw some guy with them taken out and put hdd's in place of the 2nd dvd drive.

got me thinking !!! could i put ssd on back of motherboard tray? if so i could put spare hdd for games in place of 2nd dvd drive!!

some real world pics would be nice if you dont mind:D
 
Here ya go fella, case needs a clean up and cable managemant needs sorting but i said real world lol! new mobo arrives tommorow or monday (new to me P5Q-E) so ive left all that for the big swap.

Contrary to what the pictures lead you to belive there isnt a mark on the case, not a single scratch, the alu really shows up the crap in photos. ill be washing it down with warm soapy water and matt blacking the internals on the swap.

Like i say great case and id highly recommend, full alu case great airflow and unique layout for a smidgen of most on the market.
 
looks good, be nice to see when u done new build and good tidy up!

daft question but where are the front usb/mic/headphone ports?

would be really nice if this case already came with black inside
 
all the extra pors are located on the top, ill get some pics up either tommorow or monday depending on when the new mobo gets hear.
 
ive seen some pics where it shows ports ontop and same where it dont have any at all, so bit confused!!
 
ive not seen them with ports on front, but i have seen with no ports on top but 2 fans on top or no fans with ports on top.

not sure if these are just modified cases!!

still very tempted on either the fractal design or the A05
i like that fact that you can remove the hdd cage on the A05
