I upgraded to the 8700k at 5.1 from my old 4770k 4.6 and I am so happy I did. Every game I play has seen very very nice improvements. Can see the 8770 in my rig for 4 years just li’e the 4770k was.

Still using a 3770 (non-K version) and I'm struggling to justify upgrading - though I am tempted by threadripper especially after the price drop. Going to force myself to wait until the new year though.

Hold out until Intel drop their next wave of chips in the new year. 370 chipset is already EOL lol.

That most likely not going be till the spring/summer time..

Which is not worth waiting for as I don't use my PC that much in the warmer & longer day light months

I don't think a CPU upgrade will be required for a few years yet given that gpu is the bottleneck 99% of the time.
