I currently have:

Team Group 8Pack Edition 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz

Should I get another pair of these currently £110, or 2X sticks of something else and sell my old memory (now 5 years old). Would quite like some Corsair memory to RGB with my other iCue stuff but not essential. Would like to keep current speeds C16 around 3600 is possible, don't want to outlay more than £120 after I've sold my old ram if possible.

OR

Is DDR5 ready yet as Im currently on a 12th Gen.

Cheers

8 pack ram is good stuff but if you want rgb then go for it.

DDR5 is availible on 12th gen but that would mean a motherboard change, gaming it offers little performance gains.

Buy another pair of 8 pack Ram this is what i did although mine are 3200 c14 rated but they work fine with all 4 dimms populated and XMP enabled.

Ok this is what I've done, should be with me today, nice quick ram. Thanks
When do you think we'll start to see DDR5 walk away in terms of speed vs DDR4?
Good question.

DDR4 is so defined that it’s going to be a while before DDR5 catches up.

That being said, DDR5 is designed to be better than DDR4 in every way.

Could be a couple years of production. Could be 3 to 5. Hard to say.

I’d argue that enterprise use of DDR5 is more important to the refinement of the RAM than private use.

The density, basic ECC and low voltage of DDR5 DIMMS makes them ideal for servers.
