Time to refund

Please excuse my noobness, but how long will a large company generally take to refund if you cancel an order? I've had my money taken and the item isnt due to arrive until next week. I want to buy from somewhere else but cant until I get my money back.

Is it likely to take days or is it instant?

Normally will take a few days, never normally instant. In the case of a highstreet store I was actually refunded before they took the money out (returned something same day because of misprint on specifications). That took about 3 working days to go through.

Yep never instant, will take at least a few days. Its happened to me before and I agree, it is very annoying!
