Hi there,

Recently I have been having real issues with my dvd-rw (Pioneer 112DBK) when trying to read/write cds. I managed to burn an audio cd last week, but since then the drive has been making awful noises when reading and I get the following errors when trying to write a cd (using infrarecorder)

19:10:33 Started to write disc in real write mode.
19:13:53 Input/Output error. send opc: scsi sendcmd: retryable error
19:13:53 OPC failed.
19:14:35 fifo had 64 puts and 0 gets.
19:14:35 fifo was 0 times empty and 0 times full, min fill was 100

I have tried replacing the ide cable but to no avail. Is this a hardware fault or could it be software related?

Have you looked into changing the firmware on that drive?

Also have you changed it from master to cable select or slave to cable select? etc

Just tried to update the firmware and Im using the latest. I'm using the drive as a master (its the only ide device I currently have installed)

Well it sounds like the drive is on its way out. The only thing I can think of now is getting some software to test the thing. I'm sure Pioneer do something like that.
