So i have had my 4890 Powercolor for 18 months now, and although its a great card that plays pretty much everything maxed, i have been looking to change for a while now for a few reasons.
Biggest being that my 4890 is pants at running FSX, and i used to play this a lot, but over th elast year have barely touch it as unless i have most of the detail down, it grinds along. Really wanting to get back into it and have been having some issues with other games Nvidea doesnt.
Coupled with the fact that i fancy DX11, and doing a bit of Folding@home, plus link my GPU to my tv by way of HDMI cable (no can do on 4890).
So i was thinking of the GTX570, but was waiting till the reviews of ATI's latest came out, and my mind is made up, GTX570 (prob the MSI one on offer).
Seeing that i am running a AMD 965 quad core, do you think its worth the upgrade? and will it bear fruit in the FSX dept??

Thank for your advice

FSX is cpu limited no matter what graphics card you throw at it, it will not really get any faster with a better graphics card. I have been using MS flight sim since it appeared on a 3.5" floppy back in the days when I had a 286 based system. I currently have a 5870 and it seems to run nicely on it and I have a friend that has a 480 and it has some strange stutter in it that we can't seem to get rid off, we even tried it on my system that does not have the stutter with the 5870 and it stuttered too when the 480 was used.. You have to remember you will never be able to max out FSX on complex areas it will come crashing to a crawl if you have lots of add-ons and many high quality planes and environments. Best hardware updates for FSX are a faster cpu and a SSD drive.

Have a read on these forums, some good info on them regarding FSX and how to tune it to run well.
