I have a 2gb 6950 graphics card. i have began to notice 'some' of my games struggling on medium lately. Im not too clued up on graphics card so I was wondering if I could get yours guys help.

I have a spare £150, is it worth upgrading to a better graphics card with this amount, and wht would you upgrade to

Has your 6950 been flashed to a 6970? That may help it last a little bit longer. If not, try and source a second-hand 280x with warranty and receipt just encase an RMA is required.

What resolution do you run, and what cpu and psu do you have?

With that kind of budget, I'd be looking at something like a 270X - if buying new.

I would not buy something like that from a 6950, the difference will be so small you will feel your money for the upgrade is wasted.

Do you have an integrated graphics in your CPU? If yes, sell your 6950 and add that money to your £150. You will be able to get the cheapest 280X and you will notice much bigger difference.

A 270X equates to a stock 7950, so personally I think it would be a decent upgrade. Second hand might be worth considering, too. Using an integrated gpu, if possible, until he manages to get something even better would also be a good idea. :)
