I was waiting on the 7990 tbh, but as (and I think im right in saying this) its no quicker than a pair of 7970's in CF and its nearly £300 more expensive I might as well go the 7970s route, unless I'm missing something better for around £600 of course? (spending more is just getting into silly money)

The 8000 series isnt going to offer anything else so it appears the GPU market is going to be stale for the next 9/12 months so while my 6990 may still fetch around £300 I might as well make the move now.

All this is intended for the release of BF4 so I have time, if the 7970 are going to drop I may wait.

Do you need to upgrade the 6990? Which titles is it struggling in?

But yea, I suppose if you can get £££ for it, sell it and get 7970's xfire.

Edit:

Or 7950 xfire!

7950 CF is the logical move. Either that or wait a few weeks and see what Nvidia do with the 700 series, you never know, they might at least try not to rape everyone on price*...

*If rumours are to be believed ;)

Pritty much everything these days, Metro, Tomb Raider, Crysis to name a few, I like to play with most settings max and it just doesnt cut the FPS anymore

When are we due to see the 700's? Bet their flagship will be more expensive than a 7970.

Next week, without a doubt their top end (780) will be more expensive as it's rumored to be a cut down titan. What is worth waiting for is how well they price the 770, which is rumored to be a beefed up 680...

You won't get better high end value then a pair of 7950's tbh, with game codes and special offers its fairly easy to nab a pair for around the £400 mark
