ok, as you can see in my spec, i have a e6600 which sits at 3.6 without a sweat, never goes above 40C under full load (god bless WC)

BUT, all my mates and everyone i know, are all starting to get quad cores, i havnt been a big fan of them recently, due to the fact they just arnt needed imo, but i am probably wrong.

would it be wise to sell this cpu and upgrade? if so, which one?

btw, none of that fancy 700 quid stuff, when i could just spend 200 quid and OC just as far as the big daddies.

EDIT: forgot to mention, im on XP mostly, very very rarely go near vista, just dont like it, and doubt ill be using it until next year some time.

gameing mainly, i download most of my games, so extracting the iso's is probably the only thing outside of gameing i would see a improvement on with the quad.

Not worth it then in my eyes.

You wont see a massive jump in games going from a Dual Core to a Quad Core as of yet.

Upcoming games like Crysis, their might be a bit of a jump but your Core2Duo 3.6GHz will still fly in Crysis along with your SLI GTXes.:p

okies ;)

chers for the help mate, ill prob upgrade next year around marchish then along side new cards
