Time to upgrade my monitor but not sure which one of these to get..

Hi,

I am looking to upgrade from my current 21.5 inch Samsung monitor. I am looking to go up to 2560 x 1440 as I want to up my desktop real estate.

So far the two I have got my eye on are:

1. Asus PB278Q.
2.Dell UltraSharp U2713HM

My main uses for the screen will be the usual web browsing, web development and gaming. Which one of the above should I go for. I have looked at the new samsung but I don't like the look of how reflective it is and it is a bit more than I want to spend.

I would go for the Asus, the stand alone is worth it and the semi matt finish is superb.

I am leaning towards the Asus. Is my Asus GTX 570 Direct CU ii sufficient for this res?

It will do fine in games like bf3 but you will have to lower some settings to get a decent framerate.

I wouldn't buy a Dell. It is a lottery if you get a good one or not

That lottery applies to all monitors. At least with Dell you are backed up by one of the best warranties and most efficient replacement programs in the business. And regarding some points above. The 'semi matte' finish on the Dell is very similar if not slightly lower haze than on the ASUS and the stand is also excellent.
