Hi Guys

Just been looking at the prices of the GTX 970. Quite reasonable.

I run two MSI GTX 570 in SLi at the minute.

Would one GTX 970 out perform two of the above?

Should i upgrade now or wait a bit?

Also i like the MSI brand, wouold you get a 970 from them or someone else?

Thanks.

I have just done the same.

570 sli to MSI 970

Big improvement in frame rates, the 970 is a superb card.

My mains power in games dropped from 550W to 280W, should save a bit on the electricity bill :D

Compared with two 570s no problem

The MSI is fine, I had tried a Gigabyte in my case but it was too long by about 2mm

My power supply is quote old but its a Cooler Master. So a good model.

Would you worry about the power supplly or not because i assume that two 570's drain more than one 970.

If it runs two 570s it will have no issues with one 970 or even two 970s

I did upgrade my PSU recently but only because I was building a PC for someone else so took the opportunity to treat myself to a Superflower 850

Follow up question.

Will this Ram be fine with that GPU?

Corsair Dominator 16GB (4x4GB) PC3-14900C9 1866MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit

Thats what im running atm. With a Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155.

Think the main thing holding me back ATM is the GPU.

Yes ram doesn't have much to do with the GPU at all, your basic hardware (16gb ram, 3770k+mobo) is all fine, go for a single card then you can expand to a 2nd down the line
