It's finally looking like the time has come/ is coming very shortly to replace my ageing 2500k rig as it's more and more frequently throwing up a corrupt bios error when powering on.

I don't do to much gaming these days, as I mainly game on my PS4 Pro. The only games I do play occasionally are Football Manager 2018, Euro Fishing and my daughter plays Sims 4.

I'm currently undecided what to go for spec wise, but am thinking along the lines of an i7 7700k and 16Gb ram and maybe a 1060/1070 GPU. Purely looking at this kind of spec to try and get a similar life span as I've got out of the 2500k rig.

I've been looking at the following laptop; https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...-intel-i7-7700hq-gaming-laptop-lt-26a-ms.html

But can't help but think that I can possibly get a better spec desktop PC for that sort of money (£1,500), and don't really have to have a laptop. Any thoughts or recommendations at all?

I can reuse the data drive out of my current PC and maybe the old Samsung Pro SSD, but I'm guessing that I would be better off going with a M.2 type drive these days? I could possibly reuse the PSU as well as I think its a 700/800 watt one, but again would probably be better off replacing it given its age.
