time to upgrade

hi peeps.
as title says,iam going for the e6600 cpu but i need to know what m/board and ram will be best i may o/c.
iam not realy certain which g/card to get atm because it looks like the ati hd 2900xt is getting bad reviews.
will my antec 450w psu be ok or will i need to get another if so what would you recomend.

^^ don't be fooled by the PC5300'ness of it. Its the same stuff as the PC8500 with a lower stock speed, i've clocked it well above 1000MHz.

I highly doubt that your PSU will cut it with a 8800. New one highly recommended, probobly either the Corsair 520W or this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-062-AN

well m8 i think iam going with your advice,will order 2moz.
will the g/card run ok at 1680x1050 for games and will i notice a big boost from my old sys which is as follows.
amd clawhammer 3700.
x800xtpe.
dfi lanparty 250gig skt775.
 
As you can see I have a similar spec to your new one, and you'll find it's a hell of a lot faster then your old rig :D

Should be fine at that resolution too, but I guess it depends on the game you are running, and what settings you have.

In any case, you won't be disappointed, I upgraded from a similar spec rig myself.
