Hi Guys

I'm looking for a bit of advice with upgrading my pc. I recently upgraded from my two BFG9600's to a Radeon 5850 and i'm having problems with the card crashing. I have done all i can to try and sort the the problem out but with no luck. My mobo is getting a little old now and i think it just dose not like my new card, so its time for a change.

Any advice on the parts i am upgrading most welcome.

Had the same system last year, upgraded to i7 now.
You old MB is the problem they don't like the new Gen gfx cards, your new setup looks ok.
I would if in budget change the Ram to G skill Ripjaw 1600 MHz timings are 7-8-7 24 a lot better, And ifyou can again go with a 890 chipset: Crosshair IV maybe.

Have you seen the new Hydro h60 looks a lot better than the h70 and most probably perform the same.

Yeah the psu is a little bit of overkill but it was free and seems do do the job for now, i will be changing it at some point.
I was going for 12gb of ram as apart from gaming i work from home some times and use software for processing Lidar data ( LIght Detection and Ranging ) The software requires a lot or ram.

8Gb of skill Ripjaw 1600 MHz ram is in budget but the 890 chipset is over budget, and the Hydro h70 i have only had a few month so no plan to change it yet.

Thanks for the advice guys.
