Time to upgrade?

I've been using my current GFX card for a while now and I feel it is time for an upgrade. I recently added an after market cooler to it to increase cooling and decrease the noise when running games. The cooler is quite large and I don't intend to use it with my next upgrade because I only have a mATX case. Due to the size of my case and the after market cooler, my lowest expansion slot cannot be used as once installed, the card almost rests on top of my PSU. Once I upgrade, I HAVE to be able to use a wi-fi card as I'm tired of using a dongle to connect to the router downstairs.

Does anyone have any suggestions? The card can't be too large or too expensive. Nvidia or AMD, I don't care. I'm not going to debate which is best, but I've never had any problems with my AMD cards before. Thank you in advance and any help would be appreciated.

For that budget it's either top of the line R280 or save for a bit longer and get a 290.

Nvidia side you could go 770 but not advised with only 2gb VRAM unless you get a 4gb model but they are priced so close to the 290's it wouldn't be worth it.

If you're coming from a HD 6850, and looking for a smaller card for a MATX build. I would just go with a GTX 750Ti. Nice bit of extra performance, cheap card and very low power use. Perfect for MATX tbh. You can pick one up for around £100 with 2/3 year warranty. Maybe spend the money you save on a decent SSD or something non PC related.

You can pick up a nice custom cooler GTX770 for under £250.

Also look in the clearance section, usually a Bgrade bargain to be had in there.

I'm worried about upgrading to the 750 Ti because of a few reasons. First of all, my current card has 960 cores and the 750 TI only has 640 and secondly, my current card has a memory bit rate of 256BIT and the 750 Ti only has 128BIT.

750ti looks way better on those graphs but tbh I doubt you'd see much real difference when gaming, 770 or 280 at a minimum or you'll probably find yourself upgrading again soon enough.

A GTX760 can play games at 1080P just fine, struggles at 2560X1440 unless overclocked heavily or turn some settings down (which I don't like to do)

There are cheaper GTX760 at OcUk.

The architectures are different, so comparing the number of processing cores doesn't mean much.
