Time to upgrade?

I have a Gigabyte Windforce 7970 Ghz Ed which seems to run most of my games reasonably well. But it's very noisy under load, and getting on a little.

If I had a budget of £300 would it be worth my while upgrading to something else, or should I stick to the 7970?

I play at 1080 and tend to mostly play RPGs and MMOs.

Any advice gratefully received.

At this point it can't be long till we see the 3 series cards from AMD, I'd wait for the 390 non X personally if that was my budget, should come in around or just over that if you want to save a little longer.

The 7970 is just a 208x that has been rebranded to the 280x

its still an awesome card...

Try getting some air duster and giving it a clean, usually the case for load cards, then can get dirty very easily.

if you are playing at 1080p, no need to upgrade just yet
