Had it since launch along with the expansion pack LOD, and im in the middle of installing it again:D
Anyway im determined to complete it 100% that means getting all the way through and finishing it on hell:eek:
The fursthest i got ever was on nightmare on act 2 so this time im gonna do it, im sure:)

Does anyone else play it sp and put in the command console /players 8? i know it makes it a lot harder but i get so much more exp it makes it worth it.
 
Yeah, played it a whole bunch a while back because it runs a treat on my netbook, great game to while away the time on the train etc, especially doing Mephisto runs and suchlike to get some pimped items :p
 
I've played a lot of D2. Although I haven't played it for a while I am keeping an eye on the latest patch to see if it makes any interesting changes. Otherwise I will wait for D3.

I tend to play single player and I keep it in p8 all the way through normal and nightmare until the start of Act 4 when I take it down to about p5 as the killing speed slows down. I find playing on p8 doesn't make that much difference to the level you get to at a specific act due to the very high experience penalties if your level is too high for the act, I mainly play higher players for the extra loot :)
 
Please play it online. It's so much better. It's exactly the same as singleplayer if you make a passworded game but then you can also trade items with other people or join public games if you want to.
 
Must admit that I have been thinking of reinstalling D2 lately too, to help tide me over til D3.

Are there any really good mods around for it? Higher resolution would be a good start.

Any good mods to freshen the game up a little? I'm not looking for mods which are OTT and turn my characters into killing machines...something to freshen it and make it tougher would be nice.
 
wow..there's a blast from the past....b4 wow we used to do loads of D2 sessions, involving carrying pc's, switches etc to someone's house and running a lan for hours...
 
brilliant game, so many hours playing it. baal run after baal run after pindleskin run after meph run. first time i got the windforce was a happy happy moment. i was pretty damn good actually, not through any particular talent, just sheer obsessiveness. i quit at 1.10 when i realised it was becoming an addiction.
