Underworld - Born slippy

The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony

What Is Love - Haddaway.

edit: Haddaway, not hammerby, hammerby is a Swedish football team with a reputabley violent football hooligan gang. :p

Wildchild - Renegade Master ('96 mix)
Tzant - Sounds Of The Wickedness
Raging Speedhorn - Thumper (crap band, one good song...and it's a classic)

I could say the same actually, but I'd go with The Gush. Bought a RS album on the strength of that song and was very disappointed.

I'd choose:

Jane's Addiction - Three Days
RATM - Freedom
Soundgarden - Head Down

A lot of the songs being mentioned are younger than a decade. Some obvious exceptions like voodoo child, but for a song to prove itself timeless surely it has to be a bit older.

Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin

They released the first album and Thumper as the single - bought the album, gash.

Then they released The Gush...average at best.

Then they re-released the album with The Gush on it.

Gah.
